Easy

Chex Mix

I have to admit my Chex Mix can vary from year to year, but I wanted to share the basics of what I do to make mine.

I box each:

  • Rice Chex

  • Corn Chex

  • Wheat Chex

  • Cheerios

  • Cheezits

I bag of pretzels - this year, I used Snyders Gluten-Free pretzels, and I found them less salty.

I can cocktail peanuts

1/2 bag raw almonds

For the sauce I use:

  • 1 pound butter - melted

  • 3/4 large bottle of Worcestershire Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons Garlic Powder

  • 2 tablespoons Onion Powder

  • 1 tablespoon Lawry's Seasoning Salt

Feel free to change the spices to suit your taste.

I mix all the cereal in roasting pans and then gradually pour the sauce over the cereal. I like to pour some, sprinkle a bit more seasoning salt, and mix everything. I repeat the process until the sauce is used up. I usually use two roasting pans for all of this mix.

I roast the mix at 275 degrees Fahrenheit until the mix stops feeling wet, stirring about every 20 minutes.
