Backyard Adventures: Restaurants in Sandwich, MA

I live in a pretty special place, Sandwich, Massachusetts. You can go from a calm day at the beach or Boardwalk to lively outdoor dining near the water. There are cafés, pizza places, burger joints, Mexican, Thai, Greek, and Italian Restaurants, specialty food markets, and casual sandwich shops. Let's not forget the Sandwich Farmer's Market. For a really small town, there is a lot to offer.

Here are some of my favorites. Don't worry. I'll be adding to the list and giving you some insights on my visits throughout the year.

Bakeries & Cafés

Beth's Bakery - One of the first places I visited. They have wonderful baked goods and delicious sandwiches for lunch.

Cafe Chew - Another fabulous neighborhood cafe full of charm, delicious baked goods, and lunches you will want more of.

Greek Caffeina Cafe of Sandwich - They have two locations where you can hang out over coffee and Greek pastries or meet for lunch and have a Greek Salad or Gyro.

Pizza & Burgers

Sweet Tomatoes Neapolitan Pizza - This is my personal go-to for thin-crust pizza in the neighborhood.

Graziella's Artisan Pizza, Co. - If you are looking for great pizza and other options, this is a good choice, and as of this writing, they also deliver.

Two Brother's Pizza & Mexican - A bit of a cross-over where you can get fantastic pizza or Mexican options. Yum.

Father's Kitchen & Taphouse - Craving a burger and a beer? This is the perfect spot for that.

Off the Grid - OMG you cannot go wrong here because not only can you find fabulous burgers, but delicious BBQ

Next Door Burger - If you are looking for a burger that is a little more upscale or adventurous, this is your place.

Dinner Vacations - Specialty Restaurants

Amari Bar & Ristorante - Pasta fresh from the North End in Boston plus your favorite indulgent Italian dishes for a special night out, not to mention Wood Fired Pizza.

Tomatillos - Southwestern is the theme here, with guacamole made to order, sizzling fajitas, burritos, and so much more.

Krua Khun Rose - My go-to for Thai. They only have takeout, which is fine with me.

Seafood

Fisherman's View - One of my all-time favorites, and right in the neighborhood to boot! Perfect views, delicious food, summer outdoor dining, and entertainment.

Pilot House - You cannot go wrong with anything from the Pilot House, including the view.

Captain Scott's - This local favorite has a little bit of everything to go along with their fantastic seafood dishes.

Markets

Superior Lobster & Seafood - This is where I shop for all of my seafood. It is fresh, everyone is friendly, and the lobsters are divine.

The Brown Jug - I love this spot full of yummy things to purchase and delicious food (including pizza) to eat.

Treehouse Brewery - If you are a fan of Treehouse or Craft-brewed Beer, this is a must on the list. Purchase beer to go, or try draft pours while looking over the ocean.

Lo Adoro - An Italian Market right in the center of town with fresh pasta, olive oils, wines, cheeses, and even sandwiches to go.

Lambert's Market - I love wandering in this small old-fashioned market that is bursting with food, wine, produce, and a hopping deli.

As you can see, there is no lack of choice, and this only scratches the surface!

About Me

Hi!  I'm Jen

Cooking is a passion passed down from both of my grandmothers to my mother and then to my sister and me.

Throughout my career, I was always drawn back to food.  I've learned from experienced chefs, apprenticed with professional bakers, and tasted coffee with international experts.

Today I'm sharing those experiences with you.
